Hi from Darwin. So I got a job picking mangos within an hour of getting of the plane. I'm leaving tonight for a farm. I don't know quite where it is, but it will be my home for the next 6-8 weeks, unless it sucks so bad, but it sounds like it will be awesome. I didn't have a chance to take any pics, but I will and if the farm has internet (probably not) I'll put some up. If not soon then in the coming weeks. I won't be doing anything so interesting, so don't worry.
ps. I'm growing a beard while I work on the farm.

Shark Alarm.....I was down at the beach today bodysurfing, and a shark totally came in close to the beach. A loud siren went off, and everybody (about 300 people probably) got out of the water. The lifeguards were out on jet skis and the police helicopter came down and circled around the shark, which was quite far away from most people. They chased it away and everyone got back in. Happens every couple of months, apparently. I bought a plane ticket to Darwin today, on the advice of Iotam, one of my roomies, who is from Israel. He said don't delay on the coach, which costs the same and takes about 6 more days to get there. Lots of jobs picking mangos await, and the season starts soon. I leave here on Thursday, destination? The Outback. You'll see it when I get there.

Here's the view from where I am staying here on the beach. I'm only going to stay here another week and then I'm moving on. It's nice here but there's lots of work all over the country with the harvest and it sounds like a great chance to see the country and make some money. Next stop
who knows but I'm sure it'll be hot and friendly. Just like most of the women over here. I'll put some more pics up later before I leave.

The weather here is just fine, thank you.....
There's been a bit of an onshore breeze the last couple of days, and as a consequence the surf was really going....I saw more than a few guys get just wiped out by some monstrous waves. Some broken boards washed up too....So I looked at some places to rent, they are really expensive and really small. I'm not entirely sure if I will stay here. The good thing about being here is that it is a pretty central location, and If I want to fly anywhere else (brisbane, melbourne, etc) it's pretty cheap, like 60 bucks or so. So maybe I'll move on, or I might share an apartment. One of the guys in my room in the hostel might want to. He's from london and we get along well enough, but it's about 600 a month to share a bedroom. Cheaper than the hostel, but maybe not as cheap as going to another city. Finding work......I don't really seem to have so much motivation yet, I talked to one lady who runs a juice bar down by the beach, and she said she'd have tons of jobs for the summer, in a few weeks. I left my cv, and I might just wait for that. Working on the beach sounds very agreeable. Plus, not working right now is giving me some time to just wander around, which is quite enjoyable. I found a small park, where they had left the original bush, which was like a jungle, with strange birds and huge trees. The canopy was probably at least 75 feet up. Really cool......

Welcome to Bondi beach. So I'm in a hostel here for a few days. Hopefully I can upgrade the quality of lodgings soon. This is a pretty sweet place, reminds me of kits quite alot, except with surfing. I'm going to start looking for a job tomorrow too, but as of right now I'm pretty bagged from the trip. I'll put up some pictures when I can, but this particular computer doesn't want to recognize my camera.

So I'm leaving for Australia in 2 days. Doesn't really seem like much time, considering I'll be gone till at least June, which is more of a recent memory than a time in the future. I'll check in again on the flip side.
